Q. Where is this horse racing?
A. Seventh Avenue in New York City, presumably, according to art history sources. I have used horses in a number of my paintings. In this case, the horse is part of a cityscape, It is the contrast between the geometric shapes of the background and the organic shapes of the horse and rider that makes this painting work for me.
