Artist's Insights:
Q. The queen is exotic and the car is not well known. This makes for a good pairing!
A. I painted this partly because my wife once owned a Morris Minor. The car image I found was reddish brown which reminded me of the skin color in Egyptian art. Right away, Queen Nefertiti came to mind. Not only is the color match perfect, the angle of her hat continues the angle of the side vent windows and the trim on her hat is similar to the linear trim along the side of the car. I call it a little gem.
